WELCOME TO THE 2008 MIPS CHALLENGE TROPHY.
16th April 2008
DINGWALL REIGNS SUPREME
Dingwall Camera Club has won the 2008 competition!!!!!!!!
Tonbridge put up a good fight but were beaten into 2nd Place. Going digital next year I wonder if someone
is going to knock them off their perch!...we shall see.
A very big thank you to everyone who took part-the club organisers as well as those that submitted their images.
The full scoresheet is printed below.
Next year we are back to 10 clubs. New rules will be sent out soon and as usual I shall keep them as simple
as possible.
Thanks to Dingwall for hosting the final and I still need a club to hold the 2009 finals....are you interested?
Let me know.

March 31st.
All the results are now in and the 5 clubs going through to this years Grand Final at Dingwall are:
DINGWALL
XRR
COLCHESTER
TONBRIDGE
PHOTOFOLD
Well done to all those clubs, it should be an exciting final. Watch this space for the results!!!!
I am still looking for a club to host the 2009 Finals which will be digital, so if you have a spare
evening in April and are interested-email me.
MARCH 14th.
The final round of Group One has taken place and it was a resounding victory for Dingwall Camera Club. We now know that
Dingwall and Photofold Camera clubs will be going forward to the Final. Well done to both clubs.
Next year the competition will be run as a DIGITAL competition and hopefully we shall be back to 10 clubs. We shall
stick with the 2 group system with a Final at the end. Anyone fancy holding the 2009 Final? It would have to be held
sometime in April so if you have a spare evening in your programme here's a filler! Email me if you are interested.
FEBRUARY 16th.
Round 3 of Group 1 was held at Mersea last night and Dingwall continue to lead the table. They had some stunning Natural
History shots which picked up high scores.
It has been decided after much debate to make this the last year that the competition will run in it's present format.
Many clubs are now finding it extremely difficult to gather enough good slides for the competition. Next year the competition
will run in a digitally projected image format. I hope that all present clubs will continue to participate. I will write
to all clubs at a later date with more details but for now if you could arrange for an evening in Feb-March 2009 to be set
aside for your round I would be most grateful.
2nd February 2008
Last week Colchester Photographic Society held the first round of Group 2 where the judge scored very high indeed. He
awarded 15 slides maximum points. It will be interesting to compare the scores when Round 2 results come in.
In Group 1 the second round was held at Ipswich and already it is showing how much different judges differ in their scoring.
Well done to Colchester for heading Group 2 but it is only by a slender margin!
