MARCH 28TH.
THE ULTIMATE CHALLENGE EVENING.
The 2 teams have now been selected and they are as follows.
The CHAIRPERSONS Team: David Titmus,Dick Waylen, Doris Rampling, Gillian Ashby,Judy Cooper.
 
The TREASURERS Team: Dave Yardley, Barry Weaver,Len Rampling,Judy & Neil Bentley, Ray Whiting.
 
The full list of subjects required can be found elsewhere on the website. Study them and get printing. The captain's will require your images at the next meeting April 11th.

MARCH 22nd. PREPARING DIGITAL IMAGES FOR PROJECTION
As you know we are going digital next year thanks to the generosity of the National Lottery. Images submitted for competitions must be of a certain size, i.e. the longest size must be no more than 1024 Pixels in LANDSCAPE mode and those images in PORTRAIT mode must be no higher than 768 Pixels. Full instructions on resizing can be found under the Competition Rules.

Barry has an EPSON Perfection 2450 Photo scanner for sale. Immaculate condition and this scanner is capable of scanning colourslides. £40.00

FEBRUARY 16TH.
Just a reminder that next meeting-Feb 29th is a TOP 20 Evening. This is the last round of the PRINT section and you are advised to enter the maximum allowable to increase your chances of winning the trophy.
For slide workers the format is slightly different this year. You are invited to enter 3 slides in each of the following themes. SEASIDE - CLOSE UP - RED -
You may bring your entries on the evening BUT.............PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU GET YOUR TITLES TO DICK NO LATER THAN THURSDAY 28TH.

Yes Folks we did it!!!!!!  Our application for a grant from the National Lottery 'Awards for All' scheme was accepted.  This grant will enable us to purchase a Digital Projector, Screen,Laptop and other bits and pieces.  This equipment will enable us to hold more digital workshops, enter Digitally projected competitions and inter-club battles etc. The equipment will also open up new and exciting avenues for members to explore.  Our thanks to Dick for all the work he put into the application.

JANUARY 6TH. 2008
HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!!
Our first meeting of 2008 was held last friday and we saw some great entries in Round 4 of the TOP 20 Print League. David Titmus narrowed the gap at the top of the table with some prints of very high quality. Dave Yardley remains in pole position but by only 2 points. I'm looking forward to the final round on 29th February!!!!
 
MIPS CHALLENGE TROPHY
The 2008 competition swings into action on Tuesday 8th at Photofold. This is for Group 1 clubs of which MIPS are a part of. The results will be posted as soon as I receive them. You can view our entries on the CHALLENGE TROPHY PAGE.
 
 
 

2008 ULTIMATE CHALLENGE
 
Once again we shall be holding this popular fun evening. To make the evening a success we need your input in the way of Prints & Slides. This season's subjects are as follows:
PRINTS
1. What image best illustrates the industrial revolution. The industrial revolution began in England in the Mid 18th Century. The image could be part of or the whole of a machine or structure built as the result of the revolution.
 
2. Constable painted it- You photograph it!An image taken in Constable country (Stour Valley)
 
3.MARITIME.Mersea is famous for its oysters and sailing. Photograph anything related to the sea-Boats,beach sea ,harbour etc.
 
4. TRANSPORTATION:Henry Ford built the Model T Ford, Robert Stephenson built The Rocket and George Shillibeer started Londons first bus service in 1829. Provide an image of transport. This could be whole or part of a vehicle etc.
 
5. COLCHESTER.Julian Caesar invaded Britain in 55BC. Think of Roman Britain and Colchester springs to mind. Photograph something in Colchester
 
6. Englands Green and Pleasant Land. The Womens Institute was formed in Wales in 1915. It was in the 1920's that some branches began ending their meetings with "Jerusalem" Photograph an image that typifies Englands green and pleasant land.
 
CONFLICT Throughout time man has waged war on each other, photograph an image connected with conflict.
 
EAST ANGLIAN PERSON Photograph a reminder of an East Anglian Person. This could be a statue.
, building or object.
 
SLIDES
 
1 NATURE Bird-insect-fish-reptile-animal
 
2. AN EAST ANGLIAN BUILDING/LANDMARK
 
3. FOOD Anything from crops in a field to a plate of Beans on Toast!!!
 
Remember to take more than one image of each subject if possible.

FRIDAY 12TH MAY 2007
On the last evening of our current season we held our Annual General Meeting and presentation of awards.  Members enjoyed a good spread of snacks and wine afterwards.
